Aston Hall offers
an award winning service to schools.
Half-day sessions include
workshops and activities for all
age ranges and abilities.The wide
range of sessions available are
closely tied to National Curriculum
programmes of study and QCA recommendations
in History, Numeracy, Literacy,
Science, Geography, Creativity
- Design and Technology, Art, Music
and Drama.
Aston
Hall's colourful and varied history
lends itself to a variety of tableaux,
role play and re-enactments. The
visit of Charles I and the Parliamentarian
attack are investigated by all
key stages. Local History is further
explored in the celebration of
Queen Victoria's visit to open
Aston Hall as a museum.
An
extensive collection of costume,
handling artefacts is used in tableaux,
role play and other activities,
and a range of other resources
support hands on investigations
and practical work in science and
technology.
Aston
Hall has two well-equipped study
bases, with a wide variety of resources
and classroom equipment including
a recently acquired touch screen
interactive whiteboard running
bespoke History, Literacy and Numeracy
software.
Booked
schools can be accommodated to
eat their own packed lunches. In
good weather schools are very welcome
to picnic in the surrounding park.
The shop is available to schools
outside opening times.
