The sword. By the seventeenth century swords were becoming lighter and sharper. It was part of the education of sons of the wealthy to learn how to use a sword. Dress swords were frequently worn into Victorian times. Males in the present day Royal Family can still be seen wearing a sword on certain occasions. |
