Joan

Joan Smalbroke married a gentleman called Ezechias Skarninge of Wolvey, Warwickshire, in 1601.

We know this because of the entry in the parish register.

As soon as Joan had married Ezechias Skarninge's sister accused Richard of trying to steal property from her for his daughter. There was a court case and Richard was accused of forging documents and trying by "all bad means to inrich" himself "by cunning".
