Title: History Teaching Sessions

History sessions are based around object handling and historical enquiry and relate to different aspects of the primary curriculum. The Schools Support Officer will take your class on an inspiring journey based on one of a number of key historic topics, please choose an option below to find out more:

  • Roman Remains: Investigate a Roman Centurion’s uniform and weapons, then handle and examine objects from Ancient Rome
  • Ancient Egypt: Look at artefacts and use them to build up a picture of everyday life in Ancient Egypt
  • The Glory that was Greece: Pupils use the Ancient Greek gallery as a resource to decide what our rich collection of ceramics can tell us about life in the past
  • World War 2: Pay a visit to a 1940's living room and learn about the effects WW2 had on ordinary life
  • The Glittering Gold - Exploring Saxon Treasure: Pupils will investigate the mystifying history of the Hoard using storytelling and practical activities
  • Discovery Days - Ancient Egypt or Ancient Greece: Spanning a morning and afternoon, these special events combine taught sessions, artefact handling, art and craft activities
