| Aston church has seen many changes. There has been a church on this site since Saxon times. It replaced one built in the Middle Ages. All that remains of the medieval building is the fifteenth century tower and the spire. The spire was partly rebuilt 1776/77. |

The nave and chancel were rebuilt between 1879 and 1890. A few medieval features remain such as a piscina (basin for washing the Holy vessels). Several medieval Holte tombs can be found in different parts of the church.

| To the left of the spire can be seen the Gravelly Hill Interchange (Spaghetti Junction) It was completed in the 1972 and is a significant landmark on Aston's northern edge. |
