Safety bicycles date from the late 1880's. The bloomers worn by the lady cyclist, and the Norfolk jacket worn by the gentleman, come from the same time.

The Great Exhibition was held in 1851.

But the Crystal Palace was moved to another site, and used until a fire broke out in it in the 1930's.

It was then demolished.
