Wife and Children
- Henry was from the House of Lancaster with the symbol
of a red rose. This was one of two families which had been squabbling
for the throne over the previous 30 years. The other family belonged
to the House of York with the symbol of a white
rose.
- The fighting between them was called the
Wars of the Roses. Henry united the 2 houses by marrying Elizabeth of
York - Richard III's niece. He thereby created the new House
of Tudor.
Henry and Elizabeth had 7 children including the future
Henry VIII.
