1603 was the year of the death of Queen Elizabeth I.

By 1603 Robert had died and Elizabeth, his widow, married again. Her second husband was Thomas Colmore. She left Blakesley Hall with Barbara to live with her new husband.

Ten years later, in 1613, Richard Smalbroke died. Blakesley Hall was left to his grandaughter.
