The Brain
This mummy’s brain has not been removed. This may
be because the embalmer was attempting to save time and
effort. |
 |
The Eyes
There is some type of material which has been stuffed
into the eyes. This may be because it helped to maintain
the appearance and shape of the eye sockets.
|
 |
The Teeth
The teeth are worn and decayed, which could be caused
by age but could also be caused by the Egyptian diet, as
particles of sand in ancient Egyptian bread caused people’s
teeth to wear away. |
 |
The Organs
The organs, such as liver, intestines, lungs and stomach
remain in the chest and abdomen. This may be because the
embalmer was attempting to save time and effort. |
 |
The Back
There is a large hole in the mummy’s back but
it is a mystery why it is there.
Can you think of any
reasons for this hole? |
