A wooden building with a place for a fire (a hearth) is thought to have been built on the eastern side of the present area of ruins.

Stone gargoyles were found, and remains of a stone building which could have been a chapel.

The buildings seem to have been around a small courtyard.

It was inside a wooden fence (palisade), with a ditch all the way around.

A wooden bridge appears to have crossed the ditch.
